'300,' 'Watchmen' Director Zack Snyder Chosen to Helm Next 'Superman' Film

This is incredibly exciting news! Zack Snyder did a great job directing 300, and Watchmen wasn't the worst movie I have seen. After the relaunching of the Superman franchise with Bryan Singer's Superman Returns, I was left wanting more. More in the sense of a sequel and more in the sense of a better story line, more enticing characters (and actors playing the characters), and a further widening of the appeal to a larger audience outside of the Superman fan base.

Exciting News for Fellow Tolkien-Film Fans

The prequal to J.R.R. Tolkien's the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

So, as everyone knows I am a huge Lord of the Rings fan! I loved the books. I loved the movies. I loved the video games and I have been extremely excited about the highly touted two-part prequal, The Hobbit. So, naturally when I heard that it has been having troubles in the pre-production stages I got curious.

P.S. We're Engaged!

So it's no surprise to any of my friends as this happened almost a month ago, but it is newsworthy to the blogosphere! I'm engaged! I'm engaged! I'm engaged! It happened on September 4th around 10:10 PM during the fireworks show at Disney World's Magic Kingdom. It was an extremely magical experience that I hope the Ostrich will remember forever. Here is how it happened in her own words:

Playing With Fire

After our spring break bonfire attempt was foiled by the local police this past week, I was left still wondering if I remembered anything that I had learned as a young boy scout. Brush and twigs for kindling…teepee shape…oxygen…could I live up to my masculinity and build a fire? The thought drifted to the back of my mind by the start of the new school week, as I had to focus on two tests, a biology lab makeup and another draft of my psychology paper due.

A Walnut for the Road

So I decided today that I wanted to be a good pet owner and play with Leo outside. When I let him out he ran pretty far away from me but instead of getting upset and frustrated like I normally would I decided to entice him with a little adventure. Behind the parking lot of the Club’s lower stretch of apartments was a trail leading down to the river’s side. I had been interested in exploring it before but had chosen to wait for the right time. This felt like a better time than any!

And So it Begins

Yesterday, and the weeks preceding it, revealed the struggle(s) that I will be facing for arguably the rest of my life. Almost five hours spent at Nalley Toyota of Roswell bargaining, negotiating, stipulating, and questioning the various sales team members exposed the indecisiveness of my soon to be mother-in-law. At first, I must admit, when the Ostrich was so quick to temper at the outset of her mom’s differing opinion I felt it a little uncalled for. I understand that she had been dealing with this woman for twenty odd years of her life but I thought patience was simply the lacking element. Yesterday proved me ignorant and wrong to that fact!
